During a time that our civilization needs to be recycling and conserving resources, production and application of asphalt and concrete continues to be a resource intense process. Being impermeable, rain water runs off the surface of roads, parking lots and driveways straight into the municipal storm drains, causing flooding. Accelerating freeze and thaw cycles caused by climate change are not helping these surfaces. Plagued by cracking, heaving and crumbling, asphalt and concrete are just not made to take the beating that our changing climate brings.

Combining locally sourced recycled tires, granite and a polyurethane binder, Stormflow Surfacing is a flexible and extremely durable solution to your aging paving surface. With a minimum of 27% void space, Stormflow is completely permeable allowing water to freely drain through it, completely eliminating cracking and crumbling. Use it to pave a new surface, or “overpour” on existing concrete, wood, asphalt or paving stones, completely eliminating the excavation costs and saving thousands of dollars. Will Stormflow Surfacing crack? Because of the elastic properties of the rubber chips, porous pave can expand and contract making it stronger to resist cracking or crumbling.
Can I use salt on Stormflow Surfacing? Salt is safe to use on your Stormflow Surfacing. One of the advantages of a permeable surface is that it makes snow and ice management easier. When the snow melts, water will go through the Stormflow Surfacing instead of staying on the surface. You won’t have to worry about water accumulating on your driveway, walkway or patio and freezing again.
How long does Stormflow Surfacing take to cure? Under normal conditions it is recommended that a period of 24 hours be allowed.
